I have been thinking about this newsletter for a bit: We don't need political ideologies anymore. In it, the author claims that no one has a monopoly on the truth, that "both sides" have a point and that refusing to adhere to an ideology makes them a better thinker.
when u say this newslett is about how technology bull*hit harms society you are I believe saying bll*hit technology is harmful, not that all of it is. You are against the "bad" side of it only. So, lookie here: I don't really know if there are bad and good sides, clearly identifiable. Seems a bit more murky and complicated. (Like a swamp or like quicksand) But I will forge on, into your little on-line universe. [p.s. now I done read the first three or four paragraphs. It looks good!]
Thank you for the kind words and welcome! And yeah, like most things, tech rarely breaks down into clearly good and clearly bad. But it's a touch hard to fit that level of nuance into a short blurb. And I do sincerely believe a lot of HYPE around tech is clearly misleading to outright harmful. And that is the kind of thing I am referring to.
I have had various peculiar responses, personally, to your newsletter, at one point almost unsubscribing. This kind of anomaly is to be expected though, and now I think I am staying. It took a little while for it to "get through" to me. I see some parallels to my own Substack work. I would like people to hear me, but sometimes it takes a little patience and a little reading. I am pleased that I have managed to maintain a higher quality of writing here than I did on "Medium." I would link people there but "Medium" closed me down utterly! Fine. That way nobody has to torture his or herself or listen to Barry Manilow's Greatest hits. (My crime was I said the wrong thing to those egotists who run "M." Specifically I criticized a TRANS??? Come on. Yep. You cannot make this stuff up. When it comes to people who have had their privates re-arranged, NEVER CRITICIZE THEM.)
